Max is a Microsoft Agent character released by Bonzi Software, Inc. as part of the MaxALERT software. His appearance takes inspiration from the Peedy Microsoft Agent, as demonstrated by the parrot design.
Use in MaxALERT
Max was used in the MaxALERT software by Bonzi Software. The purpose of the software was to have the Max character inform the user of news relating to malicious software and how to keep their information safe. Since there are no known screenshots of the MaxALERT software, it is not known how this software worked or if Max had any other special features. However, a malware-reporting site stated that the MaxALERT program was very similar to a similar program published by Bonzi Software called "InternetAlert". [1] Like BonziBUDDY, Bonzi Software claimed that MaxALERT had a retail price of $40, but would give the program away for free for a limited time. [2]

Trivia
- Max was created in 2003.
- The Max character remained "lost" for a long time after the shutdown of Bonzi.com. However, the Max ACS was later found in 2018.
- As with most classical Microsoft Agents, he has his own color table to utilize multiple unique colors to make the character seem higher quality.
- Despite both Max and Bonzi being developed by Bonzi Software, Max does not have a taskbar icon.
